The Big 5 Dubai ended a few days ago and the balance of the event, dedicated to building and heating/plumbing, reconfirms its central role among the sector events.

The reference market of ‘The Big 5’ is primarily North Africa, the Middle East and Central Africa, a market that represents approximately 20% of Calpeda’s export. The business presence of the company here goes back to the 1970s, and it has constantly strengthened over the years.

Calpeda, in particular, took part in the fair with its six distributors for the Gulf area: METEL INDUSTRIES (United Arab Emirates), ALI AL JALAHEMA (Saudi Arabia), ALI KAIKSOW (Bahrein), AL SULTAN & KHALAF (Kuwait), GULF SERVICES (Oman) and ORIENTAL TRADING (Qatar).

At the exhibition Calpeda presented its range of pumps for industrial use, made of cast iron and steel, its range of domestic pumps and its pressure booster sets, which play an important role in this type of market. In addition, the UL listed fire pump sets, produced with our UL 448 certified pumps in collaboration with the distributor Metel Industries, drew great interest.

Calpeda is the only company in Italy, and one of eighteen companies in the world, to receive UL 448 certification issued by Underwriters Laboratories. It is particularly selective certification, demanded by fire prevention designers who operate above all in particular markets such as the USA, Canada and the Middle East. The UL 448 Standard indicates that the product must adhere to specific requirements, ranging from traceability of all the materials used to some special technical specifications, through to the use of specific construction and machining tolerances.
